The global capital of Virtual Reality (VR)? The French city of Laval! And definitely last week, as this was when the 18th edition of the Laval Virtual exhibition and conference took place. By Sunday evening, over 15,000 people explored the most exciting innovations in the field of virtual and augmented reality. Like every year, Barco hosted a booth together with its trusted VR partner Immersion ánd we’re happy to have supported the organizers with Barco’s VR projectors, ClickShare solution, and X20 digital signage!

Laser première
One of the eye-catchers at our Laval Virtual booth was our 60,000 lumens Flagship Laser projector. Originally designed with digital cinema in mind, our Flagship Laser technology is now conquering more and more other markets too. Its exceptional brightness and unequalled image quality (high contrast, vivid colors and superb 3D rendering) make the DP4K-60L a perfect fit for VR applications, where life-like immersion is key. Laval Virtual marks the first show where we demonstrated the unequalled power of our Flagship Laser projector to VR professionals.

Come and experiment
In addition, visitors to the joint Barco-Immersion booth met our WUXGA F50 projector - with ultra short-throw lense - and were invited to experiment with Immersion’s Sharing application on a Barco UHD 84” LDX-8482T display with touch control. Last but not least, at Laval Virtual we also showcased how ClickShare (including the new CSE-200) can foster smart collaboration in VR environments.

Illustrating our market leadership
Committed to spreading the word about our VR projectors, we provided the Laval Virtual organization with no less than ten Barco projectors. While an RLM-W8 and ClickShare helped enliven the presentations in the Keynote area, six F22 WUXGA projectors were used in the conference workshops. Two F50 and one F35 projectors, for their part, helped show us a glimpse of the future of VR: they brought the innovative VR projects to life that competed for the ReVolution award.
